Anita Hill Moses
Stylist
Anita is the owner of B.A.D. Braids & Dreads, a preeminent full-service natural hair care salon in Richmond with over 30 years of service to the community. Her career has been rooted in reinvention, but one principle has remained constant — healthy scalp and healthy hair come first.
For over 25 years, Anita has been an advocate for non-toxic ingredients and scalp-safe formulations. She has intentionally aligned herself only with products that protect the scalp biome and support long-term hair health. B.A.D. Braids & Dreads is the only S.T.R.A.N.D. (Stylists Training, Researching, and Networking with Dermatologists) Certified Salon in the country.
After years of searching for professional products that met her non-toxic standards, Anita made the decision to create her own. Under NHR Natural Hair Restoration powered by Rooted Formulations, she
develops clean, toxic-free hair and scalp care products grounded in research and formulation integrity. She also formulates for stylists, salon owners, and product manufacturers who are committed to producing safe, responsible scalp and hair care solutions.
Her salon carries the same products used in service, along with other carefully vetted non-toxic styling products, ensuring transparency and consistency from consultation to home care.
Anita has trained more than half of Richmond’s natural hair stylists and continues to educate because this is not just her profession — it is her purpose. She thanks God daily for the opportunity to serve and welcomes you to experience the difference at B.A.D. Braids & Dreads.
